The noise control slats are an AC element used for attenuation of noise spreading through air-conditioning holes from a noisy space outdoors (or an inter-space). They are mostly used in compressor stations, machinery rooms, engine generators, and noisy production operations. The noise control slats may also be used as a replacement for noise silencers in confined spaces or where appearance is at stake (e.g., facade or cladding of a building). As standard, the noise control slats are manufactured from zinc-coated metal sheet, and other material may be used upon request, e.g., stainless-steel or aluminium, or RAL colour may be applied. They are filled with insulation material inside to absorb noise. Bird ingress protection is a standard feature, and insect ingress protection net may be provided upon request.
